The Designer Behind Anton & Maxine
Every Anton & Maxine garment begins with an idea and is brought to life by designer Diko Pekdemir-Lewis. From the first sketch to pattern drafting, cutting, sewing, and the final press, every step takes place in the Columbia, South Carolina atelier.
Trained in Germany through a traditional apprenticeship in bespoke tailoring and dressmaking and holding a Bachelor's degree in Fashion Arts, Diko combines European craftsmanship with a contemporary design philosophy. Her work is known for architectural silhouettes, exceptional fit, and timeless pieces that prioritize individuality over trends.
Founded in 2014 and named after her daughters, Antoinette and Maxine, the atelier creates small-batch collections and one-of-a-kind garments for those who appreciate thoughtful design, enduring quality, and clothing made with intention.
